Registration & Authentication Services

The Foundation is now registering and authenticating works created by Purvis Young. Updates to these records continue on a daily basis and include research and correspondence between museums, collectors, dealers, auction houses and art professionals worldwide.

Registration: Owners of works attributed to Purvis Young are encouraged to register their works in the Foundation’s archive by submitting our application form. An accurate photo must be included to ensure identification. Owners are encouraged to update the Foundation with any changes to their collections. Registration is free, however a small donation to the Foundation is appreciated.

Application for Registration-Form PYF072523R-EZ

Note: The foundation registers artwork at its sole discretion. The submission of an application does not guarantee registration of the work and does not in any way create a contract between the owner and the foundation for the purpose of registration, authentication or other related matters. Registration of this artwork by the Foundation is not for the purpose of authentication nor is it’s acceptance by the Foundation to be construed as acknowledgment the work is an original work of artist Purvis Young.

Authentication: The Foundation is available for authentication upon request. Works which are deemed to be genuine will be issued a Certificate of Authenticity from the Purvis Young Foundation. The fee for a traditional printed hand signed COA is $250. Additional copies are available for an additional $100 each. The fee for authentication is payable at time of submission as a donation on the website or by cash app. All COAs are signed and sealed by the Director and a member of the Purvis Young family Irvin Byrd. Quantity discounts are available for collections and multiple submissions. Any funds paid for works which cannot be substantiated will be returned upon completion of our research.
